Security Central Customer C.A.R.E. Day – 44,000 Lbs. of Success

News & Blog

Saturday May 13, 2017, was another successful Customer C.A.R.E. Day for Security Central. The sun was shining, flowers were blooming, and clients were smiling as they brought their personal documents to be shredded and old electronics to be recycled. Hundreds of customers enjoyed the food, fun, and an opportunity to take photos with our special guest… the Furniture Row NASCAR race car #78 driven by Martin Truex, Jr. Our largest client, Furniture Row, was kind enough to bring one of their NASCAR team race cars to put on display for people to see up close and personal what a 200 MPH race vehicle is really like. For such an expensive vehicle, we would have expected at least a few luxury touches like cup holders!

Our shredding partner Xpress Shred destroyed over 27,000 lbs. of documents. That surpassed the record from last year by more than 7,000 lbs! 3R Technologies recycled nearly 15,000 lbs. of old electronics to avoid contaminating our landfills. Our technical C.A.R.E. team members lifted, carted, and processed every one of those 42,000 lbs. That is a heck of a morning workout!

While it is always fun to see how much paper and electronics customers bring, we are more excited to see what kind of community impact we can make collecting canned food and cash donations for the Denver Rescue Mission. Quite honestly, we were disappointed that we only collected about 1,100 lbs. of canned food from clients this year which is down from the typical 2,000 lbs. of past years. Fortunately, 3R Technologies saved the day by bringing over 1,000 lbs. of food that they collected from their clients! Together we delivered over a ton of food to the Denver Rescue Mission. In addition to the food collections, we collected $2,355 in cash donations for the Rescue Mission. A ton of food and a ton of cash will definitely impact a lot of struggling lives in our community! Thank you for your support!

Next year we hope set a new record for food and cash donations collected, as one of our core values is giving back to our community. (Learn more about our Million Dollar Impact Initiative at www.securitycentralinc.com/impact)

Mark your calendars; we hope you will join us Saturday May 12, 2018, to have more fun, donate more food, and impact more lives together. See you then!
