Terms Glossary

An integrated system of electronic door locks and computerized control hardware that unlock doors based on a preset time schedule, presence of a valid access card, or entry of a valid PIN number or other form of personal verification.

A video camera that uses traditional analog video compression and transmission technology. Analog cameras do NOT have the clarity and quality of High-Definition (HD) digital video images that most current televisions and cameras utilize.

The process of activating a security intrusion alarm, usually via a PIN code or remote device, so that it will generate an alarm if an unauthorized entry into the protected area occurs.

The process of de-activating a security intrusion alarm, usually via a PIN code or remote device, so that people can freely enter and exit the protected area.

Creating and archiving a record of when an employee enters and exits a business. Various levels of tracking can be achieved through alarm system monitoring, card access systems, and video systems.

Sensors that detect abnormal conditions in a particular environment such as high temperature, low temperature, water leakage, humidity levels, etc. in order to alert proper personnel before valuable assets in the area are compromised.

An integrated system of sensors that can detect a fire via the presence of smoke, rapidly rising temperature, extreme heat, etc.

Sensors that can detect the presence of water (flooding) or abnormally-low temperatures (freeze warning) and trigger a signal to our Quick-C.A.R.E. monitoring center so we can alert the appropriate parties of a potentially damaging situation.

A combination of sensors, control units, and software that work together to allow the authorized user(s) of the system to protect lives and property against various threats.

The portion of an Integrated Security System that is designed to detect an unauthorized entry into a protected area via the use of sensors such as door switches, motion detectors, glass break sensors, etc.

An integrated system of electronic door locks and computerized control hardware that unlock doors based on a preset time schedule, presence of a valid access card, or entry of a valid PIN number or other form of personal verification.

A portable button that can be worn and pressed to transmit an emergency (or non-emergency) signal to our Quick-C.A.R.E. monitoring center where our responders can then notify paramedics, family members, and/or other responsible parties that a person is in need of medical assistance. Medical Alerts are often associated with the phrase, “Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”

The process of receiving and responding to signals that are generated by detection equipment at customer sites. The pertinent information is then relayed to the appropriate personnel, i.e. Police Department, Fire Department, homeowner, business owner, etc.

The monitoring and recording of each time a security system is armed or disarmed by a particular person(s). This information can be used to verify employee time records, business hours, unauthorized employee entries, etc.

The portion of our facility where alarm signals and customer calls are received and handled by our Quick-C.A.R.E. Responders 24-hours a day.

The ability to control a system (i.e. intrusion alarm system) from outside of the protected premises via a web-based device such as a smart phone, tablet, computer, etc.

The web-based service that allows clients to remotely control their Honeywell alarm systems, thermostats, lighting controls, keyless entry locks, and video cameras via their smart phone, tablet, or computer.

Certification that a particular product or service has been inspected by Underwriters Laboratories for proper design, operation, and reliability.

The monitoring process of matching security system arming and disarming activity with a customer-defined time schedule to ensure that a particular area is secured by a specific time and remains secured until the predefined opening time.

An integrated system of cameras, recording devices, and viewing options to allow viewing of live images or recorded events
